The focus of this effort is to teach children about the natural world around them. If you follow the link below you will find several ideas for activities that will teach children about nature and encourage them to think about their natural environments.
In my experience, children can be great little scientists. They have a natural curiosity (why? why? why?…), they are very creative, and their observations are not yet biased by all of the “facts” that they will come to learn in school. Getting out into nature can also show a little one how learning can be active and exploratory outside of the classroom as much as within the classroom. Activity of the mind and the body go well together. So, take a child outside this week to marvel at nature. And if you don’t have a child handy, do your best to act like one. Have a good weekend,Larry
